Another Beautiful Sunday, comments and links-I’ll try to be nice about it.

But it is going to be hard to do when there is so much idol worship going on.  And it isn’t just because it is inauguration day, this one has been going on for four years. Dear Leader: CNN Correspondent Wrote Obama Letter Every Day for Four Years – something that would never happen if the president were a Republican, and if it did CNN would be the first to call a foul. Just read this:

Most people would cut a 13-year-old girl some slack if she became obsessed enough with Justin Bieber to write the teen singer emails and letters all the time, but what if an ostensibly professional journalist were to do the same to a politician?

This odd scenario actually is not a hypothetical, however. A CNN correspondent named Tom Foreman has been doing just that, writing a letter every single day to President Obama for the past four years.

Even more disturbing is that Foreman has been publishing his daily missives on the CNN website where he does not really explain why on earth he ever did such a strange, stalkerish thing.

Why on earth indeed!

Russia is needing a little of that global warming right now. Snowpocalypse Russia: ‘Snow tsunami’ swallows streets, cars, buildings

And we have this from the Caller Times this morning: Opinion: Guns where I least suspect them.

Did you know about Guns Across America?  Did you participate?   I didn’t, if I were younger I might have.

Accidents happen but this one is REALLY embarrassing. Gun safety, folks, gun safety. 5 hurt in shootings at gun shows in Ohio, Ind., NC  Notice the headline seems to indicate there were purposeful shooting, nope, it was just an accident.

The Democracy Initiative: a Coup in Plain Sight  Yes, I think we’ve been had.

Less An Inauguration than a Tepid Rerun  Apparently the bloom is off the rose for Dana Milbank.

Four years ago, hundreds of thousands of people flooded the capital, sleeping on floors and lining the streets so that they could be part of history: the inauguration of the first black president, who had the promise of being a transformational figure that could bring hope and change to a broken political system.

That messiah never came, and a sluggish economic recovery overshadowed his term. Obama was reelected less because he inspired the nation than because he discredited his opponent. Most Americans still think that the country is headed in the wrong direction, and just one in five trust their government to do the right thing

And yet we are stuck with the same left wing media, the same left wing politics and the same sarcasm for the Tea Party as if he was the Messiah and we were the anti-Christ.

This is quite an admission for the New York Times: Jihadists’ Surge in North Africa Reveals Grim Side of Arab Spring

WASHINGTON — As the uprising closed in around him, the Libyan dictator Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi warned that if he fell, chaos and holy war would overtake North Africa. “Bin Laden’s people would come to impose ransoms by land and sea,” he told reporters. “We will go back to the time of Redbeard, of pirates, of Ottomans imposing ransoms on boats.”

In recent days, that unhinged prophecy has acquired a grim new currency. In Mali, French paratroopers arrived this month to battle an advancing force of jihadi fighters who already control an area twice the size of Germany. In Algeria, a one-eyed Islamist bandit organized the brazen takeover of an international gas facility, taking hostages that included more than 40 Americans and Europeans.

Coming just four months after an American ambassador was killed by jihadists in Libya, those assaults have contributed to a sense that North Africa — long a dormant backwater for Al Qaeda — is turning into another zone of dangerous instability, much like Syria, site of an increasingly bloody civil war. The mayhem in this vast desert region has many roots, but it is also a sobering reminder that the euphoric toppling of dictators in Libya, Tunisia and Egypt has come at a price.

“It’s one of the darker sides of the Arab uprisings,” said Robert Malley, the Middle East and North Africa director at the International Crisis Group. “Their peaceful nature may have damaged Al Qaeda and its allies ideologically, but logistically, in terms of the new porousness of borders, the expansion of ungoverned areas, the proliferation of weapons, the disorganization of police and security services in all these countries — it’s been a real boon to jihadists.”

Thank you Obama, Bin Laden is dead and so are many, many others because you as president have refused to believe Muslim Terrorists could be anything but gentle.  In your book you told us you would come down on their side, no one who voted for you read it or heard it. They were in denial.  Elections have consequences and I fear what this one will bring.
